The Thai Cabinet’s recent relaxation of regulations on solar rooftop installations marks a pivotal moment for Thailand’s fast-growing renewable energy sector. From 28 December 2024, licensing requirements for rooftop solar installations located outside industrial estates have been abolished. Previously, the installation of such solar rooftops with a generating capacity exceeding 1MW required a factory license.
